Video
calling is been famous these days, there are many option and services
available. Yet never additional software and sign up. Here our favourite
Firefox bring a new feature of video calling for its user and this feature is
called Firefox Hello, which allow user to make free calls directly from there
browser with micro phone and webcam installed, added with it signup account is
optional and it supports Firefox, Chrome and Opera browser for client side
expect Internet Explorer and Safari.
Following Six simple steps are
used for Video calling in Firefox Hello
STEP 1 : To use Firefox Hello,
you need to be running at least Firefox version 36. If you don’t have Firefox
download it from www.firefox.com/downloads
. If you already have Firefox, update press ALT keyboard navigate to About in
the menu bar and check for the updates, if necessary.
STEP 2: Next, you need to add Hello to your extension
toolbar in the browser. Click menu in the right side corner and this customize
button [1] an then you will see the “Additional Tools and Features” window
where you can find the Hello icon, just click the icon and drag it to the
extension tool bar[2] , once its added to click exit Customize.
STEP 3: Start Hello by clicking
the icon [1], then to begin the video calling click the blue button named “Start a conversation”. If you like to
log into your Firefox Hello then you have to click Sign in or Sign Up [2] and
follow the instruction as always. Your
mail id will be shown at the bottom, above your status. You can change status
by clicking Available[3] label.
STEP 4: Next, grant Firefox
permission to access your webcam and microphone. A small video-call window will
then appear at the bottom right of Firefox. Type a description of your call in
the ‘Name this conversation’ box[1] if you want. Next, click email link [2] to
open a pre-written email containing the link to your video call and send this
to whoever you want. Click copy link [3] to copy the video-call link to your
clipboard from where you can paste and send it to anyone using another email
account for example, or by posting it on Facebook.
STEP 5: Once you’ve sent the
Hello link, wait until the recipient clicks it. It will work as long as they
use Firefox, Chrome or Opera (on either a mobile device or PC ). While waiting or
you can click on Hello icon and launch more videos calls or browse the web.
When your friends click on the link, they will be taken to the video call
windows, where they need to click ‘Join the conversation’. If you closed your
video call window, the Hello icon will turn blue [1], telling you someone is
calling. Click the icon, then the conversation with the blue circle next to it.
STEP 6: Every call link is saved
as a ‘conversation’ in Hello, Just click it to start another call with your
friend. If you want to delete a link, move your cursor over it , then click red
trashcan icon [1]. Click the blue icon [2] to copy a link. The contact icon[3]
lets you import contacts from your Gmail account or add new contacts using
their names and the email addresses.
